A perfect home for a holidaymaker looking to seep the self in nature and tranquility. The ambience around the lodge provides ample space and nature for spiritual growth or just to unwind from the noise of the world.
A Peaceful – Relaxing – Photogenic – Retreat surrounded by a Cedar Forest Sanctuary is the setting of our tiny retreat with a mesmerizing view of the Himalayas.
The lodge sits perched on a hilltop 8200 ft. (an old Apple orchard once) lying in the lap of the Middle Himalayas. The lodge is ideal for hikers, photographers, writers – for people looking to seep in nature or just fill the body, mind and soul with a positive energy through meditation, yoga or simply just being yourself. Close to Shimla (25 min.), yet far away from the traffic and noise of our modern lives. The village is ideal for couples, nature lovers, bird watchers, adventure enthusiasts – for guests looking for nature and time to self. For long stays the lodge is ideal except the winters (Jan-Feb) our cold and not recommended for older guests.
Cedar Hill Lodge is registered under the ‘Himachal Homestay Tourism’ initiative provided by the state to provide a genuine experience to travelers: a hygienic, comfortable stay with Homestay owners (many) like me who can provide you with an authentic experience based on your requirements for a holiday.
All Family Suites or Individual Rooms have individual access so guest privacy is not affected.
Guests are welcome to join us for early morning walks and meditation free of charge. If required we provide the assistance of basic Yoga instructors at a charge.
For longer stays or a group looking for Yoga and Meditation retreat experience, please do contact us to make the necessary arrangements from Shimla. We would be elated to be a part of this experience.
Cedar Hill provides a small menu for meals (veg and non-veg), candlelight dinners; heaters in winters, thermos tea/coffee for night, emergency lights, toiletries and fresh linen in rooms. We provide travel assistance, internet access, taxi bookings, and holiday packages for other areas in Himachal Pradesh also.
Cedar Hill doesn’t have: telephones in room, electricity back-up, kids play rides or activities, elevators or air conditioning/fans in the rooms. We do not allow loud music in the parking area.

To Cedar Hill from Shimla Bus Station or Railway Station the taxi charge is generally 350 Rs. A bus ticket is for 15 Rs.

| Description | Typical homestyle food. Tea/coffee will be provided every morning. Hot water bottles will be provided during winter. Cedar Hill Lodge is equipped to provide you a short menu; a ‘buffet’ breakfast and buffet dinner on the purchase of a package. We hire cooks and purchase fresh rations keeping with demand and our food and beverage service is provided for our customers who purchase the mentioned package. For immediate check-ins or walk-ins (without packages) A Neighboring restaurant (a 2 min. walk) is the hot spot for all sightseeing tourists for all meals during the day. Our guests are welcome to purchase food and beverages and self-service themselves. We are happy to provide our customers with utensils or offer the prevailing lodge menu at that time. 12 kms. from Shimla on the Kufri Road. A Taxi charges Rs 350 for a drop to Cedar Hill from Shimla. A bus ticket is for 15 Rs.
